An update from Wg Cdr Cooper

Sirs, Ladies and Gentlemen,

I wish you all a Happy New Year.

I promised you a ‘follow on’ email in Jan (to the initial one below) and am now delivering that; I am pleased to say that everything remains ‘on’ regarding the planning of the Germany and Czech trip in Jul 22.

I am also very pleased to announce that Mrs Di Radstake has volunteered to assist me in putting together this adventure and her knowledge and experience will doubtless prove priceless.

Due to the relative complexity of this trip (multiple hotels, large numbers of rooms), I will soon be engaging with hotels to confirm availability and to secure rooms (where possible).  You will understand my dilemma – if I do not approach the hotels early enough then suitable rooms may not be available.  Similarly, most family requirements are likely to be ‘bespoke’ so it will be difficult to define exact requirements until nearer to the time…

Anyway, I am giving you fair warning that I require a commitment from you (if you wish to participate) by 25 Feb 22.  This timeline may change once I have engaged with the various hotels but I want to give you as much notice as practicable so that you can mull it over or discuss with your families.

FYI, the schedule for the trip remains iaw the original email below (21 to 26 Jul 22).

I will require the following by that date:

Head of Household.

Number of people in family.

Names.

Ages.

Specific room requirements (Single Room, Double Room, Family Room if available etc).

In due course, I will come back with a costing per family and key information such as a date by which I need your firm commitment (and possibly a deposit) or else you would face cancellation fees for one or all hotels.

I re-iterate that the scope of this trip will be for a maximum of 25 families so an early reply will likely avoid any disappointment.  Several of you have already expressed a serious interest so others please note.

Finally, as you consider the overall cost of this trip do note that Czechia operates a similar system to Switzerland that you need to purchase a ‘sticker’ (I believe in the region of 20 euro) when you enter the country or else face a potential fine.  Food and drink costs were very reasonable at all locations (when last visited), naturally it depends on the restaurants that you select.  Overall, this should be an awesome trip at a great price!
