Curry Cook-Along
For those who are missing a taste of home, what could be more British than a curry!
Raheel Mirza, 2020 MasterChef contestant and current World Record Holder for hosting the largest online cookery event will lead a Curry Cook-along for members of our community on the evening of Fri 21 May. It is intended that the event will run for approx. 1 hour and will teach you how to cook a curry from scratch, a cumin rice accompaniment and naan breads. Prior to the event you will receive the full recipe and ingredient list. All participants will receive spice packs to create the curry including sufficient supplies for you to make additional curries after the event. Individuals will be able to tailor dishes to their taste (adding less/more spice as appropriate). Raheel will be on hand demonstrating the curry and answering your questions during the cook-along.
It is intended that the event will cost c 15€ for those entitled to the British Community Fund (BCF) subsidy with spare capacity being marketed to non BCF members. To make the event viable at this price point we are looking at 60 attendees. Those entitled to the subsidy will get the first offer of places, with non-subsidised tickets taking up the spare capacity. Why not invite your NATO colleagues from other nationalities to join in too?
This event is only possible through a subsidy from the BCF and YOU by joining in making a viable number of participants. Due to the items being posted from the UK (dispatched in the next days), an early sign-up is needed so that we order the correct number of packs and release the tickets to entitled personnel before offering to others. The event will give you the opportunity to practise creating your own signature ‘go-to’ curry dish and promises to be fun and sociable evening.
