Volunteering

Volunteering is contribution of time, effort and talent to a need, cause or mission without financial gain. Volunteering is all about you being able to contribute some of your own time and skills to help people in our communities.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is an integral part of supporting the community and is a great way to meet new people, especially if you are new to an area. Volunteering strengthens your ties to the community and broadens your support network.

Becoming a volunteer can help you gain confidence, make a difference to others, give you the opportunity to try something new, and build a real sense of achievement. It gives you a chance to learn new transferrable skills, fill employment gaps in your CV and have fun.

In recognition for your time, you will be offered support, guidance, and training on a variety of subjects including:
- Safeguarding levels 1&2, online safety (CEOP)
- Emergency First Aid.
- How to deliver on/offsite activities.
- Food Hygiene.

*As per the Global Support Organisation (GSO) policy statement –For insurance and safeguarding purposes, it is mandated that ALL GSO Volunteers and Volunteer Groups are to be registered, D&BS cleared as per JSP 893 Part 1 and assured with the GSO J1 Welfare Safeguarding Assurance Manager before taking place.
Registering to be a Community Volunteer
