SHAPEFEST 2021 – CALLS FOR COMMITTEE POST VOLUNTEERS (ALL RANKS)

Sir/Ma’am/Ladies/Gentlemen,

The SHAPE Chief Of Staff is considering options with a view to holding a SHAPE Festival (SHAPEFEST) for 2021.  In anticipation of the event occurring this year (potentially around 18 Sep TBC), I am seeking volunteers from across the UK community at SHAPE  so that we can hit the ground running.

SHAPEFEST celebrates the international diversity of SHAPE and is an ideal opportunity to show off the Best of British while taking in the finest that our international partners have to offer.  The COS is awaiting inputs from the NMRs with the intention of delivering a safe event that the whole community can enjoy.

We know that time will be tight, so it is important to provisionally identify volunteers for the following Committee Posts:

  1. 2IC/Treasurer
  2. Site Coordination
  3. Volunteer Coordination
  4. Logistic Coordination
  5. Stall Lead Coordinator

If you are interested in volunteering for a Committee Post, please can you inform Wg Cdr Andrew Welsh (andrew.welsh@shape.nato.int) by Wed 30 Jun 21.

If approved, SHAPEFEST 2021 will be the first celebration since the COVID-19 pandemic began, and will be a welcome distraction from the last 18 months.  It is for this reason I encourage you (all ranks, civilians and dependents) to consider volunteering for the Committee, making this a SHAPEFEST to remember.

If you wish to support but not through the Committee, please inform Wing Commander Andrew Welsh as there will be plenty of opportunity to either run a stall, take a turn in serving or helping to set up the British area.  I hope it will be a true cross-community effort – importantly it will be great fun!
