Why have the booster?

Like some other vaccines, levels of protection begin to wane over time so the booster dose will help extend the protection you gained from your first 2 doses and give you longer term protection.  The booster will help to reduce the risk of you needing admission to hospital due to COVID-19 infection this winter. Please read this Information about COVID Boosters and the Pfizer BioNtech Product Information before signing up. You will also be asked for consent at the time of the immunisation.

Who is eligible?

We work within NHS criteria so will offer a booster to those who are more than 6 months from their second dose, have not had COVID within 28 days and fall into currently eligible groups:

  • Aged 40+
  • Aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts you at risk from COVID-19
  • Live or work in a care home
  • Frontline health and social care worker
  • Main carer or live with someone at high risk from COVID-19

 Appointment information

This is an immunisation conducted using UK NHS guidance by a British team. Your vaccine information will be entered directly onto the NHS system so please ensure you have your NHS number to hand if you are not a registered patient of ours.  This booster dose will be visible on your NHS online immunisation certificate the following day.

We are very grateful for your punctual attendance and request you wear a face covering.

You will be asked to wait for 15 minutes after the immunisation.

You should not attend if you do not fulfil the eligibility criteria or have been directed to self-isolate.

If you have questions about the suitability of the vaccine for you please address these in advance with your usual healthcare provider.
